What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Over time, vaginal muscles can become excessively stretched due to the effects of aging and childbirth. This can cause a wide range of symptoms, such as:
- Loss of sensation during intimacy
- Urinary incontinence
The embarrassment that can accompany these symptoms causes many women not to discuss them or seek treatment, but at Youthful Endeavors, Dr. Hetz and our medical team can help.
How Does Vaginal Rejuvenation Work?
The ThermiVa® vaginal rejuvenation device is uniquely shaped like an “S” and is designed for maximum comfort. After the device is optimally positioned, non-invasive radiofrequency energy is delivered to both external and internal tissues. This causes thermal tightening to improve the appearance of external tissue and provide strength and thickness to inner tissue for immediate, long-lasting relief.
What Can I Expect from a Vaginal Rejuvenation Treatment?
- A comfortable treatment with no anesthesia required
- Quick, 30-minute sessions that can easily fit into a busy schedule
- Three sessions about one month apart are typically all that is required for maximum results
- Immediate relief after as little as one treatment
- Intimacy may be resumed the same day
Are There Any Side Effects?
The advanced ThermiRF™ technology does not injure or harm vaginal tissue, and our Thermi™ advanced technology is designed for optimal patient safety and comfort. Patients can enjoy an immediate return to intimacy and normal activities with restored and revived feminine wellness.
Results may vary, and while most patients begin to feel improvements after just one or two sessions, the full three sessions may be recommended to ensure optimal results. During your consultation, your health, medical history, treatment expectations, and goals will be assessed in order to qualify you for this procedure.

About ThermiVa®, by Dr. Hetz:
There has been an amazing & rapid growth in the field of non-surgical vaginal and vulvar rejuvenation and now Dr. Hetz brings the best and safest Radiofrequency technology into his practice locations called ThermiVa.
However, clinical and surgical experience in vaginal rejuvenation and knowledge of vaginal, vulvar, and pelvic anatomy is as important as the technology or machines being used. To this fact, it may be comforting to know that Dr. Hetz has been performing surgical vaginal and vulvar plastic surgery since the early 1990s. In 2006, Dr. Hetz was one of the first surgeons in the USA to use Radiofrequency to treat urinary incontinence in a transurethral treatment called Renessa.
For many years, Dr. Hetz has also been using topical lasers and Radiofrequency (RF) to treat pelvic-vulvar diseases as well as for rejuvenation purposes and to revitalizing the vaginal, vulvar, and clitoral areas. The tightening obtained with the fractional CO2 lasers on the external vulva and vagina were impressive but over time gravity and the natural aging effects slowly show up, and the downtimes for these laser were 6 to 8 weeks. Depending on where the laser energy was focused and what depth the tissues were treated affected the degree of improvement and these old laser procedures required general anesthesia. In addition, these ablative and fractional lasers treatments were not known to improve vaginal moisture or to help correct thin irritated vaginal tissues called atrophic vulvovaginitis. Today’s lasers, both CO2 and Erbium, are used with less power and with less to no ablative effects but are no better in improving vaginal moisture with less-than-before downtime. These topical lasers gave enough tissue tightening effects to help reduce incontinence but not as much as when the deeper pubocervical fascia was targeted. Even though these non-surgical laser treatments provide good tightening results in the labial-vulvar structures and within the internal vaginal tissues, these results are still at a higher dollar costs, including long periods of post-op pain, long ‘no sex activity’ recovery times, as well as a real risk for post laser skin discoloration… Click here to read more
